Nvidia, a big name in the computer chip world, has introduced a clever new tool called PAIR – short for Personal AI Router. This isn't about fancy new gadgets you need to buy. Instead, it's about making the most of what many of us already have lying around: older computers, like that spare Mac or PC gathering dust.

PAIR essentially lets you link these older, idle computers together to create a mini 'data centre' right in your home. Why would you want to do that? So these machines can work together to run 'AI agents'. Think of an AI agent as a smart piece of software that can understand requests and complete tasks on its own, like drafting an email, summarising documents, or even helping manage your family's schedule.

The real beauty here for everyday Australians and small business owners is the privacy and cost-effectiveness. By running these AI agents on your own home network, your data stays with you, not sent off to some distant cloud server. Plus, it means you're not paying ongoing fees for cloud-based AI services, instead leveraging hardware you already own.
